You need more than just an insurance policy!
We are all exposed to many different hazards as we go through life, and one of the best ways to protect ourselves from catastrophic loss is through a good insurance policy.
Insurance is something that people invest in every time that they make a payment to secure the services of an agency. While it is something that will hopefully not be needed, it is often better to be prepared than to be caught off guard.
Assess your risk. Research what disasters you are most at risk for and how severe they have been in the past. Consider other factors, including emergency service access and availability and potential property that could be lost or damaged.
Research insurance options. Talk with your insurance agent and find out what your coverage options are. Ask specific questions relative to the risks you've identified. Make sure you understand your deductibles, what is and what is not covered and how the claim process works.
Have an insurance policy in place in advance. Make sure you, your family and your property are covered before a disaster happens. Being properly insured in advance will help you cover potential damage and losses and help you get back on your feet more quickly.
